These terms are an agreement between you and Daniel Goudie ("we", "us"), the individual who operates Faux Bingo, a volunteer-run scoreboard for a community Old School RuneScape event.
By signing in, installing the Faux Bingo plugin and entering a player token, or otherwise using the site, you agree to these terms and to the event rules on the Rules page. If you do not agree, do not use the site. The Privacy Policy explains how your data is handled.
1. Who can take part
To sign in or use the plugin, you must:
- be 18 or over;
- be a member of the event's Discord server, holding the role that grants access;
- be allowed to use Discord and Old School RuneScape under their own terms; and
- not have been removed from the event by an admin.
Access comes from holding a role in the Discord server, and it ends if you lose that role. Access is personal and cannot be transferred. The public pages can be viewed by anyone, and these terms apply to that use too.
2. No money, no prizes
The site is free. No entry fees, purchases, prizes, or anything of monetary value are offered through the site, and points on it have no cash or in-game value. Nothing on the site is a lottery, sweepstakes, wager, or contest for a prize. Do not use the site to organise buy-ins, bets, or real-world trading, which Jagex's rules also prohibit. Any arrangement between players outside the site is between those players and does not involve us.
3. Your account and player token
Your identity here is your Discord account. You are responsible for activity under it and under your player token.
Signing in issues a player token beginning fbp_. It is the only credential
the plugin uses, so anyone with your token can submit drops as you. Keep it
secret, do not show it in screenshots or streams, and tell an admin at once if it
leaks so it can be replaced.
Register only RuneScape accounts that are yours. Each account can belong to only one player, and each player to only one team.
4. The plugin and your game account
The Faux Bingo plugin is optional and runs inside RuneLite, a third-party client that we do not operate. You install and use the plugin and RuneLite at your own risk and under Jagex's and RuneLite's terms. We are not responsible for any action Jagex takes against your game account, or for any issue with RuneLite.
5. Fair play and acceptable use
You must not:
- fake, edit, or reuse evidence, or submit a drop that did not happen as shown;
- submit drops from an account that is not yours, share an account, or let someone else play your account for the event;
- send events to the API by any means other than the official plugin used as intended, or tamper with the plugin to change what it reports;
- access, or try to access, data or controls you are not authorised for, including other people's tokens, images, or admin pages;
- scrape the site, overload it, load-test it, or disrupt it or Cloudflare's protection of it;
- upload anything unlawful, sexually explicit, hateful, harassing, or violent, malware, or anything that infringes someone else's rights;
- upload other people's personal information beyond what is unavoidably visible in a game screenshot;
- harass, threaten, or impersonate anyone; or
- break Jagex's, Discord's, or RuneLite's terms or rules through your use of the site.
6. Admin decisions
Admins decide what counts toward a tile. They may correct scores, reject or remove evidence, reverse automated scoring, and remove participants, including where they reasonably suspect a breach of these terms or the event rules. Those decisions are final within the event. They are decisions about a game, not legal findings about you.
If the event rules and these terms conflict, the event rules decide questions of scoring and play, and these terms decide everything else.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of the images you upload and any content you add.
You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, re-encode, resize, and publicly display that content, and screenshots the plugin captures for you, on the site and through its API, for the purpose of running the event and showing its results. This licence lets our service providers, such as Cloudflare, handle the content only as needed to deliver the site. It ends when the content is deleted from the site, except for copies other people have already made and copies kept where the law requires it.
You confirm that you have the right to share what you upload, and that sharing it does not break any law or anyone else's rights.
We do not review content before it appears, and we are not responsible for content other people post. We may remove any content, at any time, if we reasonably believe it breaks these terms, the event rules, or the law.
8. Reporting content and copyright complaints
To report content that is unlawful, infringes your rights, or breaks these terms, email [email protected] with:
- a link to, or description of, the content and where it appears;
- why you believe it should be removed;
- your name and contact details; and
- for copyright or other intellectual property complaints: identification of the work you own, a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised, and a statement that your complaint is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them.
We will review reports promptly, act where appropriate, and tell the person who posted the content why it was removed. If your content was removed and you think that was a mistake, reply to our message or email us and we will review it again. We will remove access for people who repeatedly infringe others' rights.
9. Reporting security problems
If you find a security vulnerability, email [email protected] and give us a reasonable chance to fix it before telling anyone else. Do not access, change, or keep other people's data, do not disrupt the site, and stop once you have shown the problem exists. We will not take action against good-faith research that follows these rules.
10. Third-party services
The site depends on and links to services we do not control, including Discord, Jagex, RuneLite, Cloudflare, the Old School RuneScape Wiki, and Wise Old Man. Their own terms apply when you use them. We are not responsible for their content, availability, or conduct.
11. The site is provided as is
The site runs on a single self-hosted server, maintained by one volunteer in their spare time. It may be slow, unavailable, inaccurate, or lose data, and it may change or shut down at any time, including when the event ends. Automated scoring is imperfect and can miss drops or match them wrongly. Keep your own copy of anything you care about.
To the extent the law allows, the site, the plugin API, and all content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, and non-infringement.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for loss of data, progress, game items, game account access, or reputation, or for any scoring outcome or admin decision, arising out of or in connection with the site, even if we were told such loss was possible; and
- our total liability for all claims arising out of or in connection with the site or these terms is limited to USD 100.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for gross negligence or intentional misconduct, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you have mandatory legal rights that these terms do not affect. We are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill, and we are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable.
13. Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs (including legal fees) from any third-party claim that arises from content you upload, your breach of these terms, or your violation of anyone else's rights. This section does not apply to consumers in the UK or EU, or anywhere else it is not permitted by law.
14. Suspension and ending access
You can stop using the site at any time, and erase your data yourself from Your data (see the Privacy Policy).
We may suspend or end your access, revoke your player token, or remove your content without notice if you break these terms or the event rules, if you leave the Discord server or lose your role, if your use creates a risk for the site or other people, or if the site shuts down.
Sections 7 (for content already shared), 11, 12, 13, 15, and 17 continue to apply after access ends.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms, and any dispute arising from them or the site, are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules.
Before starting any formal claim, please contact us at [email protected] and give us 30 days to try to resolve it informally. Most problems here are a misunderstanding about a tile.
Subject to the next paragraph, any claim must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Nebraska, and both parties agree to those courts' jurisdiction. Either party may still bring an individual claim in small claims court where it qualifies.
If you are a consumer living in the UK or EU, these choices do not take away the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the site or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version, and every change is recorded in the site's public source repository. We will announce material changes in the event's Discord server before they take effect. If you keep using the site after a change takes effect, the updated terms apply; if you do not agree, stop using the site.
17. General
- Whole agreement. These terms, the Privacy Policy, and the event rules are the whole agreement between you and us about the site.
- Severability. If a court finds part of these terms invalid or unenforceable, the rest stays in effect, and the invalid part is applied as far as the law allows.
- No waiver. Not enforcing a term straight away does not mean we have given up the right to enforce it.
- Transfer. You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to someone who takes over running the site, provided your rights are not reduced.
- No third-party rights. Nobody other than you and us has rights under these terms.
- Events beyond our control. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as power, network, or hardware failures, or outages at Discord, Cloudflare, or Jagex.
- Language. These terms are written in English, and the English version is the one that applies.
18. Attribution and third-party rights
Faux Bingo is an unofficial fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Jagex Ltd, Discord Inc., or RuneLite.
Faux Bingo is a community-run site, operated by members of the community around the live streamer known as Faux. Faux knows about the site and endorses it, but he does not operate it and does not fund or sponsor it. He is not a party to these terms, and he is not responsible for the site, the event, its rules, any admin decision, or anything a participant does. The Faux logo appears on the site with his permission. That permission can be withdrawn at any time, and the logo will be removed if it is. All rights in the Faux name and logo remain with their owner, and nothing in these terms grants you any right to use them.
- Old School RuneScape, RuneScape, and all related item names, images, and game content are the property of Jagex Ltd. They appear here only to identify in-game items in a non-commercial community event. No ownership is claimed and no revenue is taken.
- The item name-to-ID index the site uses to check tile rules is built from the Old School RuneScape Wiki, whose content is available under CC BY-NC-SA 3.0, and cross-checked against the wiki's real-time prices API. Our use is non-commercial, and this notice is the attribution.
- RuneLite is an open-source third-party client published under the BSD 2-Clause licence. The Faux Bingo plugin runs on it; RuneLite's authors are not involved in this event.
- Wise Old Man is linked for competition tracking and is an independent project.
- Discord provides sign-in and hosts the event's server. Discord's own terms and privacy policy apply to everything that happens there.
- The site's own source code is published under the MIT licence. That covers
the code we wrote, not the third-party material above; see the
NOTICEfile in the repository.
